Everyone is doing it.

Today we would like to take some time to talk about social media. Everyone is doing it. From extra-large, fortune 500 conglomerates all the way down to one-man bands hawking tacos out of a truck, the internet has become a platform for advertising through sharing.

Here are some staggering numbers:

  • 97% of social advertisers chose [Facebook] as their most used and most useful social media platform. (source)

  • Among marketers, Instagram still takes second place to Facebook with 83% of them using the platform.(source)

  • 88% of social advertisers use [Twitter]. This makes it even more popular than Instagram in terms of users.(source)

  • 80% of social media B2B leads come from LinkedIn and  89% of B2B marketers include LinkedIn in their digital marketing mix.

How much and how often should I post?

The thing is – you can’t just be on social media. You have to use social media. And you have to use it often and consistently. You should diversify the channels you use, based on your target audience or audiences, and you should most importantly, engage and be engaging.

According to this article:

  • At a minimum, you should post to your Facebook Pages 3 times per week.

  • For Twitter, post 3 to 30 times a day (!!!)

  • Pinterest: The recommended minimum is 3 Pins per day, with a maximum of 30 Pins per day. Posting more than 30 Pins per day does not show any additional benefits.

  • For LinkedIn, at least twice a week, and no more than once each business day, which is optimal. Post in the mornings.

  • It’s generally recommended to post at least once per day, and no more than 3 times per day, on Instagram.

The thing is – you’re busy. Probably the last thing on your mind is posting your latest promotion or sharing a blog post.  Even further from your mind — and probably your budget as well — is a Social Media Manager. The average one demands almost $50K per year. (source)

So what’s a well-meaning entrepreneur to do? Automate, of course! And while there’s no magic solution to automating the creation of unique and value-added content—except to find an affordable monthly content partner— there is one for managing and scheduling it all. Enter CoSchedule.

CoSchedule is a wonderful cloud-based holistic marketing solution that helps you get a handle on all of your content, and share it at a pace that makes sense for your audience. It lets you compose directly within the platform, which helps with things like digital asset management and version control. It has a simple, easy-to-learn interface and a great calendar or grid view so you can get a bird’s-eye view of your upcoming social calendar.

All the heavy lifting, done and done.

By far, one of the most amazing things that CoSchedule does, is that it is able to intelligently post for you, when you have gaps in your posting schedule. It’s a feature called Requeue – and how it works is that it fills in those holes with evergreen (or whatever type) of content you’d like it to, so that your channels are never inactive. This saves HOURS of time, as well as helps build engagement when you just don’t have the man-hours to post enough.

The other great thing CoSchedule has is analytics. It’s always best to know how your social posts are performing, which ones have the highest engagement and what’s not working, so you can better target your content and channels going forward.

We can’t speak highly enough about CoSchedule. It ranks pretty high up in our tech stack as one of the most valuable investsments we make each year for our own marketing and we fully recommend that you check it out if you want to stay on top of your social media game!
